Beja

The city of Beja implants-itself in a hill, dominating to vast compelling plain.  The field arises, like this, as a natural border between the urban life and the rural life.  This reality marks the life of this town since his foundation, somewhere in the Age of the Iron.  The city of Pax Julia will have been founded or by Júlio César or by Augusto.  It was capital of the conventus Pacensis and administered legally one of the regions that constituted the province of the Lusitânia (the other two capitals were Santarém and Mérida).
Doubtless we are in the presence of an elementary city in the operation of the big administrative machine that was the Roman Empire.
Does not hesitate in accept this invitation and uncover everything what city has to show.
As mandatory passage the historical centre expects for your visit.
